With a background in social work, public policy and nonprofit management, Lauren brings over a decade of experience in service to the community in Houston to the Own Your Voice leadership team. Her unique approach combining dynamic solutions to systemic challenges - like strategic planning, board development and fundraising - with exciting and agile marketing and engagement tactics has proven to be the winning recipe for the  mission-driven organizations. She is eager to help both nonprofit and for-profit organizations truly own their voice to achieve business objectives and drive social impact in their markets.

Services are available via hourly or project-based consulting engagements or longer, in-house commitments depending on your needs.

CONSULTING: For organizations with a strong leadership team in place and staff available to execute, Lauren will customize a service plan to meet consulting needs with either an hourly or project-based engagement structure. With the support of the full team at Own Your Voice, she will deliver results that can be measured by financial gains, an increase in brand awareness, a shift in board advocacy and participation, and polished professionalism in every aspect of your mission-driven operations.

An objective review of organization activities will be conducted to determine existing strengths and weaknesses to improve upon. In conducting an operations or development audit, Lauren will assess the current programs and strategies employed in order to make recommendations for improvement and then will help layout a plan for efficient execution and implementation by the staff or volunteers. Evaluation and recommendations can include:

  • Immediate Infusion of Capital | Time-Sensitive Fundraising Campaigns (*if applicable)

  • Mission, vision and programs;

  • Strategic plan & board development;

  • Financial needs and fundraising goals;

  • Current funding mix and donor or investor prospect evaluation;

  • Prospect identification and research;

  • Operations audit & development of operations manual;

  • HR consulting, recruiting and team building;

  • Public awareness & perception audit;

  • Volunteer leadership assessment;

  • Fundraising information systems, database & CRM evaluation;

  • Training the development or sales team, including board.

After conducting an in-depth assessment and interviewing key staff, volunteers, and members of the Board of Directors, Lauren will draw on her past experience and perspective to create a plan for that maximizes efficiency and impact. She will then help guide the team to implement the plan from conception, execution, completion and evaluation.
